17 weeks!

Today my baby is the size of a sweet potato. Only 23 more weeks to go, and almost halfway there!

Not much has changed except my appetite is coming back and I’ve felt the baby move a lot recently.  The first few times I felt it I had to lay really still and concentrate or the little flutter was easy to miss, but since yesterday I’ve been able to feel it during the day when I’m moving around too.  It’s a really neat feeling!  I’ve also been having a lot of back pain lately, but it’s all the bad symptoms of pregnancy are such a small price to pay!

Another thing I found interesting was that the other night I dreamed about trying to save 5 baby kittens from getting eaten.  I told Lance about it the next day because he’s been having weird dreams about cats invading our house.  Anyway, today I was reading a little article about what to expect this week in pregnancy and it said to expect vivid dreams about baby animals.  Apparently my mothering instincts are kicking in, even in my dreams.  Ha!

16 weeks

On Wednesday I was 16 weeks pregnant.  I could know the gender by now, but my doctor wants to wait until 21 weeks to do the gender scan.  It’s really hard waiting! I thought about going to one of those ultrasound clinics to find out, but I could spend that $75 on something else than finding out the gender 5 weeks earlier.  I’m just impatient!  I just can’t wait to decide on bedding and room colors and start working on the nursery.  At 21 weeks I’ll only have 19 weeks left to get all of that done and I’m anxious to get started!

Lance and I went out for Valentine’s Day last night.  We had an Olive Garden gift card left over from Christmas and used that.  It was sooo good! Lance and I always share, which I love because I get to taste everything I want to, but not have a ton of food left over.  We got an appetizer, shared an entree (which I was too full after all the salad and breadsticks that I brought my half home…isn’t that what always happens at Olive Garden with that yummy salad?), and then both got dessert to-go.  We had a relaxed conversation and just enjoyed each other’s company!

My Saturday is going to be filled with laundry, relaxing, and hopefully putting together some coupon scenarios for this week.  I haven’t done couponing since November when I found out I was pregnant.  The first couple of weeks I was just preoccupied with the news, and then there was the holidays, and then I felt yucky for awhile.  So now, I’m ready to get some bargains! Plus, it’s just been so nice outside that running a bunch of errands seems inviting!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

After Lance left for work today he came back about an hour later with a pretty pink cupcake and a sweet little card.  It was a great surprise, not to mention, cake and icing is definitely the way to this pregnant girl’s heart!

Lance is my best friend and I could not imagine my life without him!  I look forward to 75 more Valentine’s Days with him!

15 weeks!

I’ve been trying to find time to write an update and decided I’ll never find it if I don’t make it. Today I’m 15 weeks pregnant! My baby is now the size of an apple.

I had a doctor’s appointment yesterday and everything went well. I lost 8 more pounds (12 total since I’ve been pregnant), but my doctor says it will reduce my chances for a C-section, and as long as I’m eating healthy not to worry if I lose more. I got to hear the baby’s heartbeat which was 150. (I just know it’s a girl!!) I get to stop taking my medicine I was taking for my PCOS and now all I have to take is my prenatal vitamin. He said that I’m doing great and he couldn’t be happier with how my pregnancy is progressing! It’s really relieving to hear that since my PCOS makes me more likely to have complications. I’m so happy everything’s good!

I have another appointment in 4 weeks where I will have my first glucose test. Then 2 or 3 weeks after that I’ll have an ultrasound and a gender scan!! Yay! I can’t wait until everyone knows for sure what I already know…ha!
